Flat vs Profiled Insulated Aluminum Panels

Compare appearance and the complete drainage arrangement, not simply whether a panel looks flat.

The visual difference

The 33 mm Flat Insulated Aluminum Panel offers a smooth face for projects seeking a restrained architectural finish. The large-format profiles have raised ribs and a more pronounced roof pattern. A finished underside can be useful, but does not by itself replace every ceiling requirement.

Drainage is a system decision

Profiled sheets direct water along the valleys. Flat-panel applications require particular attention to joints, slope and any secondary waterproofing layer. For flat-panel roof applications, consider a slope of at least 5 degrees; this is not approval for every assembly. Confirm the complete detail before ordering.

What to send for selection

Provide the roof pitch, slope length, rainfall exposure, penetrations and supporting frame. Neither a raised profile nor extra sealant guarantees a leak-free low-pitch roof. The selected assembly and local design requirements must be checked together.
