Different constructions

Single-skin metal sheets and insulated sandwich panels serve different specifications. GMiSU panels combine aluminum faces with a rigid polyurethane core. Single-skin roofs may also be installed with separate insulation and ceiling layers, so compare like-for-like assemblies.

Heat, sound and moisture

The core provides resistance to heat flow and changes the sheet's vibration behaviour. Actual thermal and acoustic outcomes depend on the whole roof. Condensation still depends on temperature, humidity, ventilation and junctions; insulation is not a guarantee of zero condensation.

Purchasing implications

Compare the supplied layers, internal finish, supporting structure, labour and accessories. Ask whether a separate ceiling or vapour-control layer is required for the building rather than assuming either system removes that need.
