What affects insulated roof panel prices per square metre?

An insulated roof panel's material price depends on the selected profile, aluminum skin configuration, core specification, coating, cut lengths and order quantity. Delivery destination, packing and the agreed supply scope also affect the amount you pay. GMiSU prepares project-specific quotations, so a price without these details is not a reliable comparison.

Compare materials fairly

Record alloy, external and internal base-metal thickness, coating and core specification. Ask for relevant material documentation. A low price or recycled feedstock alone does not establish poor quality; the agreed grade and verified properties are what matter.

Compare the included scope

Check panel cutting, trims, compatible fasteners, packaging, inspection and freight. Identify exclusions and the delivery term. Keep the panel quantity basis consistent, including effective width and any cutting allowance.

Compare supporting evidence

Check whether test documentation applies to the proposed product and configuration. Ask how deviations, damages and missing fittings will be handled. A clearer scope is more useful than an unsupported promise of the lowest lifetime cost.

Price per square metre versus price per linear metre

When a supplier quotes per linear metre, divide that price by the effective panel width in metres to compare the material cost per square metre. For a 950 mm effective-width panel, the calculation is the linear-metre price divided by 0.95. For the 333 mm modular profile, divide by 0.333. Do not use the overall sheet width as if every millimetre remains exposed after joining.

Coverage area is the sum of each cut length multiplied by effective width and sheet count. For example, ten 3 m sheets with 0.95 m effective width provide 28.5 m2 of nominal panel coverage. This arithmetic example is not a roof layout: trimming, openings, joints and the approved cutting schedule still affect the purchase quantity.

Compare four different cost boundaries

Compare four different cost boundaries
Cost basisItems to identify before comparing
Panel-only material priceExact profile, skins, core, finish, lengths, quantities and effective coverage
Roof material packagePanels plus specified flashings, edge trims, drainage, fasteners and seals
Delivered material costThe agreed package, packing, transport and destination charges or taxes where applicable
Installed project costDelivered materials plus structure, access equipment, labor and local project requirements

Compare 45 mm and 65 mm on the same specification

Keep aluminum skin thicknesses, coating and supply scope the same when comparing the two 950 mm effective-width profiles. Both cover the same nominal area for an equal length, but they have different overall and nominal core depths. Ask for the packing plan as well as the panel quotation; the most useful comparison is the confirmed cost for the complete project.

For an open patio or canopy, the thicker panel is not automatically the better purchase. For an enclosed cooled room, insulation may receive more weight alongside glazing, ventilation and operating needs. Compare the intended roof assembly rather than choosing solely by the lowest material price or the greatest overall depth.

Included and separately priced items

Compare written scopes, not assumptions

Confirm the included export packing and documentation services in your quotation, especially when comparing EXW with a freight-inclusive offer. Ask every supplier the same questions rather than assuming that a lower price necessarily uses a different material.

FAQ

Insulated roof panel price questions

Does GMiSU publish a fixed insulated roof panel price list?

No generic fixed price is published. A quotation is prepared for the confirmed panel construction, quantities, accessories, packing and delivery scope.

Does the quoted panel price include installation?

Do not assume it does. Confirm whether the quotation covers panels only, a roof material package, delivery or any separately agreed service. Local labor, structure and access equipment need their own scope.

What information makes two quotations comparable?

Use the same profile, face materials and thicknesses, core, coating, cut lengths, effective coverage, accessory quantities, packing, delivery term and destination.
