Effective width is not overall width
The 35 mm × 333 mm Modular Panel has 333 mm effective coverage. The 45 mm × 950 mm Large-Format Panel and 65 mm × 950 mm Large-Format Panel each cover 950 mm after joining. Use effective coverage, rather than the unjoined panel width, for a preliminary quantity schedule.
Regular roofs and broad coverage
A wider sheet covers more roof width per installation pass. On a regular rectangular roof this generally means fewer side joints and fewer individual sheets to position. Final labour and fixing quantities depend on the roof geometry and approved fixing layout, not on width alone.
Restricted access and detailed layouts
The narrower module can be easier to coordinate around small roof sections and constrained access. Check the actual sheet length, weight, stairwell and lifting route before assuming it will fit an elevator or can be carried by one person. Compare a cutting layout for both formats to establish actual waste.
Roofing linear meter to square meter conversion
Nominal covered area = total panel length in linear meters × effective coverage width in meters. Add the length of every piece: 100 panels at 5 m each equal 500 linear meters, not 500 panels. Use effective width rather than outside width, and calculate mixed profiles separately.
Equivalent panel price per square meter = price per linear meter ÷ effective width in meters. This converts the unit, not the specification or delivery scope. Cutting losses, roof geometry, accessories, freight and taxes still need separate treatment; there is no universal waste allowance.
What does 500 linear meters cover?
| Effective width | Total ordered length | Nominal area |
|---|---|---|
| 333 mm | 500 m | 166.5 m² |
| 950 mm | 500 m | 475 m² |
| 1,000 mm | 500 m | 500 m² |
